The app will also remind Volvo drivers of their complimentary and required scheduled maintenance based on mileage.

"We know our customers have busy schedules, and sometimes the last thing on their mind is car maintenance," said Chris Dauerer, VCNA's vice president of customer service. "With our new Volvo On Call app features, we are giving our customers one handy place to turn to for roadside assistance, maintenance information and our dealer network."

For added safety, the app also features recall information from the National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), which will also display for non-Volvo vehicles, keeping the entire family fleet up-to-date. Additionally, the retailer locator provides information and directions to the nearest Volvo dealer, or within a given city.

The free app was developed by VCNA and Cross Country Automotive Services (Cross Country), Volvo's roadside assistance partner. The app can be downloaded on the App Store at http://www.itunes.com/appstore. A version for Android devices will soon follow.
